Jimmie Ray Hutcheson, of Waynesville, Ga., passed away Monday morning the 7th of August 2017, at the age 70 at his home on Cherokee Hill after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born the 22nd of May 1947, in Douglas, Georgia, to Warnie Hutcheson, and the late Hazel Hersey Hutcheson. In 1956, Jimmie moved to Brunswick and lived there until 1990 when he moved to Brantley County. Jimmie Ray Hutcheson, of Waynesville, Ga., passed away Monday morning the 7th of August 2017, at the age 70 at his home on Cherokee Hill after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born the 22nd of May 1947, in Douglas, Georgia, to Warnie Hutcheson, and the late Hazel Hersey Hutcheson. In 1956, Jimmie moved to Brunswick and lived there until 1990 when he moved to Brantley County. He graduated from Glynn Academy in 1965 and is a veteran of the Georgia Army National Guard, serving for six years. Jimmie began working at FLETC in 1972 and retired in 2012 after 40 years of dedication. While at FLETC, he received numerous awards, including the Director's Award. He was known by the members of Green Creek Hunting Club, where he was a member for over 50 years, as Cherokee. He was also a member of Waynesville Baptist Church. Jimmie was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he passed his passion for the outdoors on to his children and grandchildren. He was an athlete and played softball, tennis, racquetball, and enjoyed running in his younger days. He and his wife, Susan, shared a love for NASCAR and attended many races where they made lifelong friends. He had an unconditional, fatherly love for his dogs that showed his true character. In his 70 years, Jimmie touched so many lives. He never met a stranger and many became like family. Jimmie was humble, loving, kind, and very generous.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Hersey Hutcheson. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Susan Hutcheson of Waynesville, Ga; father Warnie Hutcheson of Brunswick, Ga; sons, Ty Hutcheson, Chad (Donna) Hutcheson; daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Krieg, Allison (Jamey) Crosby; brother, Jerry (Kim) Hutcheson; sisters, Sheila Findley, Sheree Hutcheson. He was "1 BZ PAPA" to Cheyenne, Cody, Cannon, Callie, Jordan, Kelsey, Haley, Mercedes, Aleksei, Nicolas, Natalie, Mary Grace, and Breana, and seven great-grandchildren. He also has several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and numerous friends.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from ten o'clock in the morning until twelve o'clock noon time on Friday, the 11th of August 2017, in the chapel at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 3321 Glynn Ave., Brunswick. Followed by the funeral service at twelve o'clock, with Reverend Joe Carr officiating. Interment will follow with a funeral cortege to Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 110 Stu Daniel Rd. in Brunswick, with military honors.

Serving active pallbearers will be Ty Hutcheson, Chad Hutcheson, Michael Krieg, Justin Copeland, Benjie Moore, Dane Hutcheson.
