Robert "Bob" Boyne, 80, of Brunswick, died Friday, March 27, 2015 at Hospice of The Golden Isles. Funeral services will be held 2PM Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Peter Vivenzio and Rev. Robert Sangster officiating. Interment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery.

Robert "Bob" Boyne, 80, of Brunswick, died Friday, March 27, 2015 at Hospice of The Golden Isles. Funeral services will be held 2PM Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Peter Vivenzio and Rev. Robert Sangster officiating. Interment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery.
Born August 14, 1934 in Flint, Michigan to the late Howard A. and Helen Maude W. Boyne, he was a Veteran of the US Navy serving in The Korean Conflict. Mr. Boyne had been a resident of Glynn County since1954 and was the owner of Boyne Insurance Agency in Brunswick. He was very active in the community and had served as a former Chairman of the Glynn County Commissioners. He was also a former member of The Lions Club, Optimist Club and VFW. In his younger years he became a Star Scout, and that led him to be an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Mr. Boyne also enjoyed many sports especially football and baseball. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Patrick Boyne.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Austeen Boyne of Brunswick, a son Robert Howard Boyne II and wife Nancy of Blackshear, a daughter in law, Catherine Boyne of St. Simons Island, five grandchildren, Layton Brasher and wife Heather, Lindsey Elaine Balbo and husband Tommy, Tara Colleen Boyne, Shaun Elliot Boyne, and Kaitlyn Boyne, two great grandchildren, Alyssa Logan Hodges, and Danae Ashley Brasher, a sister Jacquelyn B. Lee and husband Tom of Deland, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, March 30, 2015 from 6PM until 8 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church. www.edomillerandsons.com
